How Many Pills will I get?
This is completely dependent upon the size of your placenta and how many "extras" you get in your package. If you are having pieces for smoothies and raw tincture, you will get slightly less pills. Every placenta is a different size and yields a different end result. There are so many variables and your placenta is the perfect size for you. I use size 00 capsules and average is about 90-130.
What is the difference between STEAMED and UN-steamed?
The difference between the Steamed method and the un-steamed method is how the placenta is prepared prior to dehydration. Some people request the Un-steamed method because they have heard that it may give them more energy than steamed. Some people choose steamed because they feel that the warming of the prep will allow them to heal faster. I don't have a preference in how to prepare it and am happy to discuss this decision more in depth. For the clients who really cannot choose, I am happy to do 50/50. You would get two separate jars of pills and can see what the difference is for yourself. If you are GBS positive, it is safer to choose the steamed method to be sure to get rid of any bacteria present.
How soon after birth should I contact you?
I prefer to know either during labor or immediately after birth of the placenta so I can arrange to be there for you. I am happy to get texts, emails and phone calls. I respond to calls between 7:00 am-11:00 pm every day of the week.
Will you pick up from the hospital?
Yes. I prefer that you plan to have someone meet me outside. The hospital is releasing the placenta to you and it is my job to pick up. If you want to meet me in person, I am happy to drop off the pills to you once you are home.
How many pills do I take per day?
I give everyone dosage recommendations once they receive their capsules. See more suggestions here Ultimately, there is no "prescription" for this since it is not medicine. It is a supplement and everyone responds differently to different amounts.
Why do I need to pay a deposit and book you in advance?
This puts you on my calendar so that I am ready for you. When you book me, I know you are serious about this service and I will make myself available to you as soon as possible. I also will have your name, address, and all of the specifics you want for service. Of course I take last minute clients, but if you do not book me in advance, I may not be available.
What if I book you and then you have to go out of town or are sick?
This very rarely happens, but if it were to happen, I would suggest that you either put it in the freezer until my return, or I will put you into contact with one of my back ups. I have a very solid connection to multiple people who also provide this service, and I trust very much. I do not attend births, so the incidence of me not being available for you, is extremely rare.
How do I know that this will work for me?
We don't know if this will work for you. Everyone handles it differently. However, I have worked with over 500 birth parents and almost everyone has reported positive feelings and side effects. Many times, if someone contacts me with any negative feelings, it is due to dosage (too much energy) and we discuss adjustment.
Will you process my placenta if I have a blood borne pathogen?
Yes. If the hospital will release it to you, I would be happy to. I follow Universal Precautions with every placenta which means that I treat each one as though it has a blood borne pathogen. Most clients who are positive actually prefer to have the process done in their own home and provide their own equipment.
What if the Hospital Staff says I cannot take it home?
The only time the placenta can not be used in encapsulation is if the doctor feels that there are signs of infection of the placenta or uterus, or any other signs that it would need to be looked at by pathology. The placenta is promptly sent to the lab after birth and is not be able to be used for ingestion. However, You may TELL your healthcare provider to remove a small piece of it to be sent to pathology and try to save the placenta if it is determined to be okay for consumption. If you have booked me, and your placenta is sent to pathology, you can still get the Keepsake Package here. Your deposit would go toward the total. You could get a print, cord keepsake and placenta back for planting.
CAN I STILL ENCAPSULATE IF I DO CORD BLOOD BANKING OR DELAYED CORD CLAMPING?
Yes! Many of my clients choose to either delay cord clamping or bank their baby's cord blood AND encapsulate their placenta.
how do i know your process is safe?
I adhere to strict sanitation and safety protocols. I follow universal precautions and regularly renew my blood borne pathogens certification and food safety certification. In my own environment, I am able to control the dehydrator and the safety of my equipment. If I encapsulate in my clients homes, there are so many variables which take away the control I have over the process. Many encapsulation specialists have been trained to believe that this process is safer if done in the clients home, this is simply not true and puts unnecessary fear in clients. Training and safety are the most important aspects of this.
